Support Fiona Smyth’s Head shave for Rescue

From all of our crew here at Drogheda River Rescue we would like to say a big thank you to Fiona Smyth who is doing a head shave in aid of us!

After the hectic year 2020 has been and with no sign of this pandemic ending soon, I wanted to conduct a charity head shave. I have had a difficult time deciding which local charity to fund, they have all been great during the hard times of the past year.

My chosen charity is the Drogheda River Rescue. I have great admiration for the volunteers of this organisation, they are out in all weather and all hours to help, patrolling local and surrounding areas and conducting search and recoveries. They have a suicide prevention patrol which runs every weekend, this is where they patrol along the river, bridges, and park areas.

Their aim in the community is to prevent the loss of life and to raise awareness on suicide. They also do regular checks on the life saving equipment around the town and surrounding areas, that can sometimes be mishandled and needs maintaining in case of a tragedy.

As a fundraiser I will be shaving my head in the hopes of raising €500 to go towards vital equipment and maintenance of life saving technology that this organisation will benefit greatly from.

Please like, share, and support me in helping these great men and women in their vocation within our community.

I will host my fundraiser live on the Drogheda river rescue platforms for all supporters.

Many thanks,
Fiona
