Call-out Mornington Tower Liferings damaged again

Incident / Call-out Mornington Tower
Today at 1123hrs

We received a call reporting issues with the life-rings in Mornington Tower.

On arrival we discovered that the life-rings that were repaired only yesterday by Drogheda River Rescue and Recovery had been targeted/damaged yet again.

1 life-ring housing has been knocked off the pole, while other life-ring ropes were cut. 2 were also taking from the housing and thrown into the grass area.

This is a ongoing issue in the area, and we urge people to report anyone interfering with the life saving devices. Its only a matter of time before they are needed and won’t be there. This is the 2nd day in a row and 9th time in the last few weeks, that damage has been done.

Laytown/Ashbourne Gardai have been informed along with Meath County Council

Mobile 1 is still on scene dealing with the damage.
